CIC Insurance Company to open branches in South Sudan and Uganda by the end of this year.

The Co-operative Insurance Company(CIC Insurance) is set to open its branches in South Sudan and Uganda by the end of this year.

According to the Company's Chief executive officer(CEO) Nelson Kuria the company will require a start capital of Ksh 500 million to establish a branch in South Sudan and Ksh 400 million for another one in Uganda.

Kuria also revealed that the Company has had approaches from other countries like Malawi and they are looking forward to expand their business to those country in the future.

Kuria said that there next stop after South Sudan and Uganda will be Tanzania.

Kuria further called on Kenyans to recognise the Insurance industry as an integral part in poverty aleviation.

President Elect Uhuru Kenyatta has called on his main rivals from the CORD coalition led by their leader Raila Odinga to tone down and stop politicising the election petition.

Uhuru said that this move is likely to incite Kenyans and interfere with peace in the country.

Speaking at the Port of Mombasa while on a familiarization tour of the Port, Uhuru who was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto and other leaders in the Jubillee coalition  appealed to  his rivals to  wait for the outcome of the court petition adding that he is ready for any outcome.

Uhuru said "There is a petition in court so lets wait for the outcome instead of going round politicking and inciting the people since this will not help"

"Kenyans are now tired with politics, they want to go back to their daily businesses and life and continue building this nation" he added.

Uhuru also took the opportunity to assure residents Mombasa and Kenyans in general that his government will not privatize the port but instead ensure that there is efficiency at the port.

Uhuru charged "We know that this port is our resource and the Jubille government has no any intentions of privatizing it, what we want to do is to just make sure that there is efficiency in this port"

Uhuru noted that ineffiency at the port is likely to affect the Country's economic growth.

Others leader present were Najib Balala, Ali Makwere, Amos Kimunya and Mike Sonko.

The Kenya Police has just discovered two mass graves in Tana following a tip off by residents.

The discovery was made by a team of officers conducting investigations and disarmament in the region.

The  Police Officers are now waiting for court orders to exhum the bodies.

ABOUD MOHAMMED ROGO KILLED

Controversial Muslim cleric from the Coast Region Aboud Mohammed Rogo is dead.
Rogo was shot several times by unknown persons on mid morning at the famous pirates beach as he was heading to hospital with his wife, 5 yr old daughter his father in-law in their private Nissan Matatu.
According to an eyewitness the car (Nissan) was spread with bullets several times with unknown people who were on a small car before they drove away leaving the family of the departed preacher astonished by the events.
The body of the preacher was buried at the Kiziwi Muslim cemetery in Tudor area hours after he was shot dead.
Business in Mombasa Central business district came to a standstill with businesses shut down for the better part of the day due to demonstrations held by the followers of the preacher with several vehicles including police vehicles burnt down and churches attacked.
Police had a hard time trying to calm the situation by having running battles with the demonstrators with one person reported dead.
His follower s now claim that the police are responsible for the killing and have promised to retaliate.
Rogo and a co-accused are facing charges at a Mombasa court for plotting terror attacks on Kenyan soil. A few weeks ago the two caused a stir at the court when they said that they had foiled an attempt by unknown individuals to abduct and kill them.

Women in the Tourism industry at the Coast region have come up together to form an association that will bring up together all the women in the sector from that region.

According to the chairperson of the Kenya association of Women in Tourism Millicent Odhiambo the association is also aimed at inspiring young girls who want to venture themselves in the tourism industry and hospitality.

"There are a lot of girls out there who want to be part of the industry but they lack role models and we want to be their role models and guiders".

The association dubbed Kenya association of women in tourism Mombasa Chapter is expected to be officially opened on the 31st August at the whitesands hotel.
